Card Profile: Ace of Wands

Suit of Wands; being the correspondence of the Classical Element Fire; is associated with fervent processes; such as values, willpower; in  words, beginnings. Ace of Wands is the first card of the Suit of Swords; representing the beginnings of beginnings, values to develop. As such, it represents an inspiration and budding willpower.

Similar with all Aces, the Ace of Wands depicts a white hand appearing out of the clouds and offering an object. In the Ace of Wand, that object is a wand, still flowering, and several leaves are floating down with the wind. Beneath the hand and the wind, a green landscape with a river flowing is illustrated, and in the distance, on top of a hill, there is a castle.

The hand appearing out of the cloud can be said to represent the link between the essence (aether) and mundane reality, as was the case in the Ace of Cups and Ace of Swords. Here, the connection is an opportunity for spiritual growth and connection with the Infinite Oneness; a direct link to the Source and its creativity. The leaves strengthen this interpretation, suggesting spiritual progress and a sense of balance. When it comes to the background, it can be said to correspond to the opportunities, balance and fruitful progress of the passion to grow.

Whatever you do, or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius and power and magic in it.

Ace of Wands stands for the beginning of new beginnings; calling one to pursue what he is inspired to and transform the “break-through” into reality. As such, it is a card of great potential and creative force; as well as new opportunities. A person represented by this card would be highly-energetic, excited and authentic, as well as inventive. In the relationship context, this card signifies an exciting and energizing relationship, in particular on the sexual aspect. In an already existing relationship, this card indicates an enhanced connection and getting over the problems for the sake of this new-old passion. Career-wise, Ace of Wands indicates a new opportunity; in the form of a new project or perhaps a new job offer; which will be faced with excitement and inspiration and thus will become a great success.

All in all, Ace of Wands is a card of dual beginnings, the manifestation of inspirations, and of overflowing excitement.
